5 Things I Do to Make Mom Life Easier

Motherhood is already hard enough. I’m always looking for little systems or habits that make everyday life feel less chaotic, save time, and honestly just reduce the amount of decisions I have to make in a day. These are a few things that genuinely make my life easier as a working mom.

1. Walmart+ Grocery Delivery

This one alone saves me hours every week. No dragging a kid through the store after work, no impulse buys, and no realizing at 5 PM that we’re out of milk. I can add things to my cart throughout the week and schedule delivery when I need it.

It’s one of those things that feels “extra” until you realize how much time and mental energy it saves.

2. I Use the Time Between Work and Daycare Pickup Intentionally

Instead of rushing straight to pickup, I try to give myself about an hour first. Sometimes I work out, sometimes I tackle housework, sometimes I just sit in silence for a minute.

Doing this helps me feel more caught up and way less overwhelmed once everyone’s home and the evening chaos starts.

3. Sometimes Ordering Out Just Makes More Sense

I used to feel guilty about not cooking every night, but honestly? Sometimes takeout is the better option.

Less prep, less cleanup, fewer dishes, and fewer decisions at the end of a long day. Sometimes protecting your sanity is worth every penny.

4. Amazon Subscriptions for Things We Always Buy

Anything we constantly reorder gets put on Subscribe & Save: vitamins, protein snacks, skincare, household essentials, kid stuff… all of it.

It saves money, but mostly it saves me from constantly realizing we ran out of something important at the worst possible time.

5. I Stopped Trying to Do Everything Perfectly

This might be the biggest one.

Some nights the laundry stays unfolded. Sometimes dinner is takeout. Sometimes the house is messy (ok a lot of the time). I’ve realized life feels a lot lighter when I stop putting pressure on myself to do everything perfectly all the time.

“Good enough” is still really good.
